Final verdict
LOVOT succeeds because it does not try to be a cheap humanoid assistant. GROOVE X built an unusually coherent physical character: its eyes direct attention, its body invites touch, its movement creates agency and its charging routine makes it seem to manage its own needs. For the right owner, that can produce more day-to-day presence than a far more capable chatbot.
The same design carries substantial constraints. LOVOT 3.0 is expensive, mechanically complex, cloud-dependent and centered on Japan. It spends a meaningful portion of each hour charging and offers little practical labor. Buy it for what it does now, not for claims about artificial emotion or imagined future intelligence.
